I was thinking about getting a new guitar with a good tremelo system. I only have about 500-600 dollars to spend and i've found three on musician's friend that seem pretty good and supposedly have good tremelos.
They are:

the Ibanez s470 (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Ibanez-2005-S470-Electric-Guitar-?sku=519969 ),

the Schecter Damien FR (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Schecter-Damien-FR-Electric-Guitar?sku=513103 ),

and the Floyd Rose DST-3 (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Floyd-Rose-Discovery-Series-DST3-Electric-Guitar?sku=511822 )

The floyd rose dst-3 has a new kind of way to load the strings and it is supposed to keep them in tune while using the whammy bar. So which one of these do you think is the best, and if you have and other suggestions, feel free to list them. Thanks very much for taking the time to read this post and any help is greatly appreciated

The S470 is the best pick, because the trem on the Damien is crap, and you don't want an FR speedloader, because you have to use special strings in it.

Actually, the S470 is also the best pick because it's awesome. Just needs a pickup swap, and you can get any sound out of it. ZR bridge is top-notch practical technology with great tuning stability.

I'd say go for the Damien. That could just be me being biased. But I think Schecter makes good quality guitars no matter what. I think the tremolo is pretty good on it too.

Is the tremelo on the s470 just as capable of all the things a floyd rose is? Also is the guitar good for hard rock/metal and soloing?

The ZR has the same concept as a Floyd Rose (double locking, pull-up and dive), but feels smoother because it pivots on ball bearings and not knife edges.

There's a bit of a review for the S470 in my sig.
