FAIL FORWARD

you tear this flesh
dig deep for something
what makes me feel
what feeds me
you're a different animal
broken it's cage
tearing into mine
rip this world apart
claw for answers you can never find

the blood means nothing
too far to to turn back
what once was something
knows the grave
feels the pain
it won't survive
call an ambulance anyway
stay awhile
tell me it'll be okay

CHORUS:

to hold a chance
to change
grip tightly
i'll be ok, it's all the same
turn away to remain
you know my name
say it when you need to feed
say it with pain

in an instant
it can change
fail forward
don't stay the same
in the eyes of tomorrow
it'll hurt either way

don't look at it's face
it's happily yours
create the masquerade
We're only strays.

okay just to tell u you'll et in toruble for bumping k?
honestly i didnt like this piece. the rhyming was....well just a little off in the first verse. work on that. i think the basis of the song (well, the story) was just jumbled. there was no point. re-write it and base it on something.
cHEER uP, eMO kiD!

to be honest i didnt like it.... but maybe its just not my kind of style
i think you should be more creative.. listen to your favourite band and then instead of writing a similar song challenge yourself to write a better song
oke that was kind of crappy advice but yeah challenge yourself more... dont just use the overused words to tell your story...
hope i helped a lill

Here's what it means:

Quote by Martyr's Prayer

you tear this flesh
dig deep for something
what makes me feel
what feeds me
you're a different animal
broken it's cage
tearing into mine
rip this world apart
claw for answers you can never find

Someone digging for answers, or reasons for certain behaviour in the less social storyteller, who maybe feels violated/attacked by the interrogation.

Quote by Martyr's Prayer
the blood means nothing
too far to to turn back
what once was something
knows the grave
feels the pain
it won't survive
call an ambulance anyway
stay awhile
tell me it'll be okay

The person attacking the storyteller goes too far verbally. "What once was something," the storyteller's dignity, is shattered. The person maybe tries to apologize.

Quote by Martyr's Prayer
CHORUS:

to hold a chance
to change
grip tightly
i'll be ok, it's all the same
turn away to remain
you know my name
say it when you need to feed
say it with pain

In this stanza the storyteller's addiction, or "what feeds" him, what the person searching for something was looking for, is talking. It's saying, basicly, "I can stay, just act like you've 'turned away,' lie to yourself. Tell yourself you can change."

Quote by Martyr's Prayer
in an instant
it can change
fail forward
don't stay the same
in the eyes of tomorrow
it'll hurt either way

This isn't any "character" talking, it's just saying if you're addicted, you can change. Learn from your mistakes. It will be hard tomorrow, but it's either change or stay addicted. No easy way out, basicly.

Quote by Martyr's Prayer
don't look at it's face
it's happily yours
create the masquerade

Again, nobody really talking, it's just pointing out the addictee's attitude towards the addiction. Don't acknowledge it's there. You're lieing to yourself and your satisfied and pretending that you've turned away from it and stopped/trying to stop doing it: the masquerade.

It's really cryptic. Obviously nobody would completely figure out the meaning unless I told them. The two first stanzas I guess don't fit well enough with the rest of the theme, so I'll probably try writing something new there.
We're only strays.
