My metronome can be set to play triplettes, sixteenth notes, eighth notes, quarter notes, etc. But not sextuplettes. Should I just set it to triplette and put it at a high bpm?

PS i know it says sex in the topic title, you don't need to make jokes.

Just double the BPM and put it on triplets. Simple as that.
It's better to burn out than to fade away.

true, but it takes more concentration to count it out, thus taking away from the playing.

playing at a slower pulse helps you to keep time for one.
