hey there,

I'm gonna be looking to buy a new guitar soon and i'm wondering what kind i should get. I play mostly metallica,megadeth,iron maiden, sabbath, ozzy stuff.

Also i want a whammy bar with a good locking system and is the ltd dv8-r any good ?

Boy this question is asked alot. Im not sure about your budget, but the Ibanez RG series should suit your needs, as well as the S series if you like the light weightedness and small body. There are tons of metal guitars, perhaps a shecter, although im not too versed on them but they are respected so i imagine theyre trems cant be too bad.

don't worry about the budget.

dv8 doesn't have a whammy, unless I'm wrong. Its a string-thru.

I'd get a decent M-series from LTD, like a 400. Neck-thru, nice wood, nice pickups, Floyd Rose, and perfect for metal. I've got a Horizon from them because I hate tremolos, and it fast became one of my most favorite axes!
