Effing love this band. Old-school as hell sounding doom metal. Suprisingly they've only been around for a few years. Both their albums, S/T and Firewood are worth checking out if you're into Black Sabbath, Pentagram, Witchfinder General etc, mixed with a fair amount of classic rock.

I've only heard You Bury Your Head. Pretty nice trad doom stuff, the vocals remind me a bit about Led Zep as well.

Pretty cool. The vocals are like a mix of Black Sabbath/Ozzy and Led Zep.

The song I heard from Firewood on myspace sounds like some 60's rock band. You Bury Your Head was pretty cool though.

Yes. It's no less heavy than early Pentagram or Pagan Altar.
Be more open minded.

Talk about reviving a dead thread here..buuuut, I was browsing FYE the other day and saw this band's album The Alchemist and thought by the cover art it looked like it may be a doom album but didn't buy it because I've never heard of them in my life. Anyways, has anyone heard it and is it any good?

^just as good as their other stuff, so get it if you can. Their releases are consistent in quality, methinks

I almost bought an album of theirs a few weeks ago, on a blind buy.

I regret not getting it now.

These guys are doing one festival gig in Finland soon, but it's in north Finland...

I wanna see 'em so badly

They remind me of Candlemass a little, but I assume the singer wouldn't have that wicked ass fro.

I like em.

I wouldn't really call them doom, as I wouldn't call Sabbath doom. But they are most excellent!

"The Snake" from their self-titled reminds me of Boris The Spider.

The s/t is just....phenomenally good. Not a single ounce of bullshit to be found on the whole album.

I want to try that while playing the opening riff to "Tempting Time".

0-0-0-13-0-0-0-0-13 or something like that alalalala but It;s so heavy and off time and awesome and you could not f**k anyone to it.

I'd call them doom, in a slightly stonerish way.

Got the first 2 albums after I listened to the s/t on Spotify. Really love the almost folky vibe coming from 'em.

New one is way too slick-sounding.

Yeah, gave a few tracks a listen and, the content was definitely there. But yeah, it sounded like a typical Nuclear Blast release. Not bad other than that, but the fuzz was a great touch.

Firewood is epic. It's just got that perfect old-school feel. I haven't heard the latest two, I'm outta cash anyway.

So apparently, touring is on hold due to serious health issues. Anybody know what's going on?
