Recs for bands that are heavily influenced by Classical music? The heavier the better. I believe the term is Neo-Classical, but I'm not sure.

Winds. They often use classical instruments such as piano (not keyboard) and strings.

What was it?

I swore I asked last night, but I guess I didn't.

But I saw Lacuna Coil on the list for recommended bands and songs for Goth Metal, but they weren't listed as such. And I looked briefly in the genres, and didn't see them. Where are they now?

That.

All Black Metal sounds like Immortal. Listen to Immortal.

What an undeniably un educated statement. You go listen to Melechesh and tell me they sound like Immortal. Hell, Emperor doesnt even sound like Immortal. Listen to Enslaved. And Agalloch. I dont think any of those bands sound alike, let alone like Immortal.

I dont wanna get warned or anything, but i mean, thats just what i'm saying. I dont think Immortal sounds like most black metal, and I dont think a lot of black metal sounds the same. Similar sure, but not the same.

Do you want me to ban you?

To call my statment 'un educated' is an incredibly stupid thing to say, and I hope you know, it = death. Only an idiot would venture into this forum and A.) Say something bad about Immortal AND at the same time B.) Insult the Moderator.

Immortal are a bunch of wimps, who don't know how to write music and Greety sucks horse nuts.

Looking for something unique, that I have never heard (In the vain of either, black metal, Black Ambient, or Martial). Period. None of this off the wall crap too. I don't much care for the "fake" jazz influenced metal bands that wouldn't know how to write for a jazz band if their testies depended on it. And if one person states the obvious, so help me Anu I'm going to smash my head into my keyboard.

hi. could someone recommend me metal where they dont scream? IE Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Nevermore... i really like metal like that... thanks a lot!

Try These:
"Feel The Fire" - Overkill
"Angel Witch" - Angel Witch
"Act III" - Death Angel
"Epicus Doomicus Metalicus" - Candlemass
"Keeper of the Seven Keys II" - Helloween
"Kings of Metal" - Manowar
The Riot album "Warrior" is on (I forget which one that is =S)
"Cowboys From Hell" - Pantera

Whoa take it easy with the mod abuse. I'm not looking for trouble, but

A.) He didn't say anything bad about Immortal, he said that a lot of those BM bands are all unique

B.) You made a bold, sweeping statement, and yes, he could have been more respectful while disagreeing

You made it sound like you think all BM bands sound the same.

Not looking for trouble or questioning your metal knowledge.

Look to Power Metal, Traditional/Heavy (NWOBHM), probably some Thrash you will like, as well, and of course look through Progressive. Of course some of the prog bands may have screaming, but just look at other classifications if they are there.

Holy shit man. I was listening to Cannibal Corpse at the age of 10.

On Topic: You'd get better results in the Hardcore forum probably.

Edit: ^^ Haha, yep. I love being hated.

i think they deserve a spot on the goth recs, and maybe sirenia also (at least i like them)

I'm a huge Draconian fan, and they're recommended under "Doom" now, as they're a death/doom band, and a fokking good one.
