Are Jefferson Starship And Jefferson Airplane the same bands?
They just changed their name, right?
I'm confused.

Yeah, there was a slight change in lineup I think, but for the most part its the same band, just changed their name and sound to suit the era of music they were in.

Jorma and Jack left, to form Hot Tuna. So it was basically the original lineup minus them, plus some others i dont know who was in Starship because i personally prefer Airplane much more.. but thats just my 2 cents

But its not the same band, considering that some of the members left, its basically just a reincarnation of their band, kind of like what Axl Rose is doing with guns & roses

Jefferson Starship evolved from Jefferson Airplane, but ended up having a somewhat different line-up, and much more of a different sound.

I definitely like Airplane over Starship.
