hey guys and ladies, need some help. i'm looking for an tube amp that's good for metal ( COB, Arch Enemy, etc...) but most amp that's good for metal i see are at least 100 watts and up and i know tube amp doesn't produce the best tone at low volume, and 100 watts of tube power at high volume seems overkill when i'm just playing in my garage with a drummer. am i wrong or is there any lower wattage amp out there?

Wattage isnt a concern for playing metal, IMO. 50watts, IMO, would be minimum for band practice. Any less and you kind of run out of headroom, especially if you use the clean channel.

SO, having said that, you shouldnt go by how many watts it does or doesnt have...you should go for how much money you have and whats available to you.
