I saw this riddle on tv and i cannot figure it out!!!

If you can measure the speed of light, what is the speed of dark?

I have no idea what the answer is and I've searched the internet and didn't find anything, so if any1 has a guess or knows the answer please reply!

Are you sure it's supposed to even have an answer? It sounds to me like one of those things that you're just supposed to think about.

There is no sped of dark. Because dark isn't a wave. Light is, and dark is just the abscence, or the prescence of very little light.

I know its supposed to be rhetorical, but oh well.

you're an idiot.

dark is the absence of light. there can be no speed of dark since it is not a wave and light is.

i think light is an object and dark is just the absence of light, like you can measure the speed of a lazer shooting light but how do you get a lazer to shoot dark or something idk so ithink you cant measure dark

You can measure your speed in a car when you're driving, but how about if you don't have a car? You can't measure the speed of your car if it is absent. Light is the same way.

It's exactly the same as the speed of light, as the darkness recedes at the same speed the light travels from its source. It moves away at the same rate and time as the light moves in.

You fools!! Don't you know anything about physics? Light is both a wave and a particle. Hence Einstein's theory or the wave-particle duality. Google it sometime. Also check the "dual slit experiment" You will be surprised to know that light has both wave and particle properties. Now that I feel smart, I am going to bed.
Light is faster than sound. That is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

if dark has to have a speed, dark would be the same speed as light

I would think that dark would be the opposite of the speed of light, but that would be incorrect if you looked at it scientifically...because then the dark and light would negate each other, causing...something in the middle...

^I can clap with one hand.

I would think that the speed of dark is the same as the speed of light because darkness is the absence of light.

Did anyone else attempt to clap with one hand after they read that?

I don't think that was even a riddle. More like a trick question you would see on a 5th graders science quiz.

No, light is theoretically a wave; it can also be thought of as a particle; depending on what situation you're in, you need an appropriate model.
