Hi. I haven't bought my [Reverend... G&L Tribute... Godin... other....] yet, but I'm also thinking about an amp. After playing along to the stereo, it occurs to me that an amp that has an input for a CD or MP3 player might be a good idea.

Questions:
1. Is that a good idea? Playing along with recorded music as a way to learn....
2. Recommendations for decent practice amps with a CD/MP3 input capability.

Thanks!
David

Sorry for leaving out the details...

Budget is under $300.
Preference is for tubes.
Music is all over the place -- Steve Earle, Pixies, Green Day, Liz Phair, Replacements, Hole.....
