So yeah...

It's a Squier Affinity Strat, with a maple body. I don't wanna replace the neck - It feels quite nice to me and has a slight flame figure to it, but the pickups sound crap and harsh, and it doesn't stay in tune too well. I was considering getting new parts off GFS. Now here are the questions:

1: Will the Wilkinson Locking tuners fit my headstock? Will I have to drill some extra holes for them? These are the tuners I am looking at: http://store.guitarfetish.com/wiezlotu6inf.html

2: What are the pre-wired pickguards like? Not the hand-wired ones, the pre-wired ones, specifically this: http://store.guitarfetish.com/hueqhssblpra.html

3: Now I also wanted to change the trem, but I was worried the full sized steel block wouldn't fit in the thinned down Squier body. The current (stock) trem block is about 6-7mm from the plastic cover on the back, if that helps. I wanted to put this trem on: http://store.guitarfetish.com/vitrfimekoch.html with these saddles: http://store.guitarfetish.com/upststsafitr.html .

If I do end up modding it, I'll use this thread and post lots of pics. But there's not a lot of work being done

Why buy parts worth more than your guitat?
Buy a new guitar.

I have an Epiphone Les Paul Std. also.

I was considering putting some GFS parts and pickups in that too, I wanted to try them for myself first though to see if they are to my taste.

Edit: And also note guitars are more expensive here in the UK. I've Squier '51s sell for $99 on musiciansfriend, and the cheapest I can find one over here is £110 ish. A pound is about 2 dollars. The only stuff we don't get fleeced for is English-made stuff like Marshall, VOX, Laney and Roland.
