hey everybody,
i just wanted to know if there are any serious affects on an acoustic electric if you put i through a normal amp and use some distortion
i know that you will get feedback like crazy but if you can handle that will the electronics be ok? or can it blow them out
i know it sounds stupid but i would like to know b/c i like acoustic stuff like ben harper or jack johnson but i would also like to try some different sounds out when i am playing.
If you know pls answer

The onboard preamp runs prior to any effects, itll be fine.
Yeah Dimebag is not the "Greatest Guitarist" of all time... Hendrix maybe... I must go get food to eat with my mouth

$250 for an amp? wow. is it worth it to invest that much in the amp?

i asked because i might be getting an ovation celebrity this weekend and i really don't want to screw it up.

No problem or risk of damaging the Ovation. I know for 2 reasons: 1) I own an Ovation and it manages any effect just fine, 2) the signal leaves the guitar and does not travel to it so the guitar stays safe. And amps can manage just about anything - provided you don't overload them.

Cheers
