well I live about a half hour away from any music stores. I love in the country. And I don't deal with the main Marshall dealer in the town, because they have horrible service, and I don't like buying from people who treat you like numbers.

And I just wanted to see what it was about before I went to try it, if I do.

Loving in hay bails under the stars in the smell of cow poop is WAY better than loving on a side walk in pollutants looking at a sky scraper.

Edit: And the REALLY good music store is two hours away from me. I just have little side business stores where I live.

You've never fooled around until right before she climax's, a chicken lays an egg between her boobs.

But to stop spamming, thanks for the input on the JVM guys. I'm not looking for a new amp, but it's nice to know what they're like..

I wont be to a guitar shop in a while. I promised myself I'm going to save up and not spend much, since I want to upgrade my Epiphone Les Paul to a Gibson Les Paul Studio, Alpine White.

I might also upgrade my JSX combo to a halfstack, but I'unno.

My other guitarist has a Valveking Halfstack. And when we played a small show, he was drowning me out, and pushing more air. No one could hear my leads. (I do have an EQ to boost the leads now though.)

For the gigs we wouldn't be micing the amps, it'll even it out a bit more. And that also leaves me a little more headroom to get different heads for different sounds, instead of having to buy a whole new head and cab setup in the future.

Edit: Damn you paintITblack!

Honestly, which would you guys prefer...
Soldano SLO-100, VHT Pittbull 100CL, or a JCM800 reissue?

I'm playing shred with an Ibanez Saber, and might buy either a Jackson Soloist, or getting an ESP Mirage custom for me..

i will add my opinion of the TSL based on my style:
Post-Grunge/Adult Alternative Rock
or just Alternative if you need just that.

i use the Crunch Channel for ryhthm parts, and the Red Lead for leads with the distortion at around half.

i think only the Lead channel gets muddy when i push the gain past 5-6. not alot of metal influences coming from me, mostly alot of Rush and Floyd.

so i'd say good for rock/alternative/classic rock/blues

bad for metal

JTM-45 and Bluesbreaker's: The first Marshalls. These are based on the Fender Bassmans and sound a bit similar. They have a bit softer and bluesier sound compared to a Plexi. Since they have tube rectifiers they get some sag. They also have better cleans than the Plexis. I recommend to switch the 6L6 tubes stock in the reissues to KT-66.

You might want to emphasize a bit more that they are almost exact copies of the Bassman, but the speakers and the tubes cause the difference.

You might want to add that you can get some real tubecrunch from the diodamps clean channels. Thats my own experience from the JCM600. Its actually a good first tubeamp (in my opinion), and im gonna keep it for the cleans if i get my hands on a jcm800.

K peoples of the marshall thread, i need help picking a JCM 800. I cant decide which model to go with, but I need something that can give kick ass blues tones, but when boosted can give me grunge tones (think early pearl jam or soundgarden). So help me please.

and if you think the jcm isnt for me then list some other models.
