Listen to Brand New's Your Favourite Weapon, it's pretty much the perfect pop-punk album.

I don't think a lot of black people play guitar anymore.

what else would Silverstein be, they're essentially Pop-punk with screaming, just like most of the "screamo" bands today

The Queers and Screeching Weasel. IMO everything else that has been posted is shit, but that's just me.

listen to this band they are what i would class as REAL pop punk what bands are like them...

www.myspace.com/shortwarning

Why did you start a thread looking for recommendations...then recommend a band to yourself...?!

And don't you find Armor For Sleep a little samey Knife2aGunFight? I mean, they've got some good/catchy songs, but I dunno, they get a little boring after a while.

I used to like them when I still enjoyed pop-punk, so yes I find them very samey, bland even, i haven't listened to them in a while. But as far as pop-punk goes it's tolerable, and judging from that craptacular band that guy posted he'd probably enjoy them. I could definately reccommend better bands.

When we see how potentially awful Armor For Sleep and Hidden In Plain View's new albums are I may just hate all pop-punk bands still in existence, other than Saves The Day. Actually I already dislike Hidden In Plainview really. Used to like them too.

Threadstarter, just go down my list, it doesn't matter if you like that one band, because that band on myspace is bland and awful. At least going through mine you might be exposed to somethig worth listening to.

If you don't want people's help, don't ask for it.

Listen to something new, you might like it + it's kinda the point of this thread.

And fair enough Knife2aGunFight, I used to like them quite a lot too, then kinda moved onto other stuff etc.

EDIT: After listening to that link, I don't see what the difference is?

I consider most things that are riff+power chord centered, with hooky catchy choruses, and verse-chorus-bridge-chorus strctured etc etc, to be Pop-Punk. So AFS fits. Yes HiPV is much more so.

was it my use of Kind of Like Spitting?
I was attempting to use the term pop-punk and pop very loosely to get people to listen to good things.
and it's very catchy you know.

Pretty much and if that's not Taking Back Sunday's Tell All Your Friends is. One of the few times where I would put TBS over Brand New.

Groovie Ghoulies and The Dead Milkmen are my favorites

The Movielife!

Pop-punk at it's finest.

Edit: And Northstar, they're good too.

No, it was just the whole thread. I was tired and half of the bands mentioned seemed to be slightly odd recommendations for someone asking for pop-punk bands...

blink182!!!! i dont consider Ava or +44 as pop punk
some other ones not as good as blink but good are:
sr-71
zebrahead(they are punk and rap o.O)
simple plan
suicide machines
Fenix tx
relient k
rufio(the guittarist is very good)
Homegrown

some of these bands might not be true pop punk but anyways its what i listen to
If I was a rock star, they would notice me.
And they would want my autograph
I'll have a video on MTV
And I'll be signed on epitaph

I'm just another face in the crowd
I'm not gonna let it bring me down because
I know someday I'll break away
#38
Good pop-punk bands: Green Day, Mxpx, Stellar Kart, Relient K, Punchline, A Newfound Glory, Amber Pacific.
#39
SUM 41 ne one heard them? they kickass. Alot of their songs are hardcore but people still call them punk-pop. Of coarse The Offspring are good too
#40
The Ataris are one of the few Pop-Punk bands I like.
And if ever You come near, I will hold up high a mirror.
Lord, I could never show you anything as beautiful as You.
