If you don't, hitler's gonna have fun with you in hell.

Seriously though, I'm not going to question Kim Deal's reasons for not wanting to reunite one last time, but I really have to see them.

If not, long live their legacy.

Certainly hope so, apparantly they're spectacular live. I've seen videos, but wouldn't hurt to see it in real life.

If it's anything as good as surfer rosa, i'll be a happy boy this year.

Gonna see them twice when they tour.
#10
If it was better than Surfa Rosa then my dreams would be coming true
Now all they have to do is tour with Smashing Pumpkins and im there
#13
Search them on myspace, listen and wonder what you've been doing with you life all these years.
#14
Yea but i mean like....who are they?

I've said this in another Pixies thread, but they made a whole documentary about the Pixies reuniting and even have clips from their first rehearsal. Its called loudQUIETloud and it was only playing in select theaters on specific dates from late September to mid November (like a tour, but for a movie).

I suppose it was more about them getting back together for a few shows (like Coachella), but they talked about making an album. A lot of people didn't enjoy it. I'm not sure if it will make it to DVD. In fact, when I went and saw it, there was about 10 other people in the theater. It wasn't very well advertised. I thought it was entertaining but had very little to no background information (which I didn't mind so much, but others might).

Its worth seeing, but probably not buying unless you're a die hard fan.

How the hell are the Pixies hippies?

Know what you're talking about before you make moronic posts like that.

uh.. bro just cause they don't go around reekin of pot, wearin tye-dye, or anything made out of hemp doesn't mean they aren't hippies. classic example "where is my mind." rest my case.

That's not how I define hippy. And there's nothing hippy about that song either, it's about the beach. Wtf.

well you define a hippy the way you want to and i will define them the way i want to. hence the freedom of thinking for ones self. and anyone who sings a song about a beach IS A HIPPY.

"Hippies" believe in freedom of thinking for yourself.

Therefore, you are a hippy. Congratulations.

There once was a man who really loved salt
So he tied his nose to the sea
And then God came down from his silver throne
And said, 'Honey, that water ain't free

uh everyone believes in freedom of thinking. dumbass. the only one who didn't was adolf hitle and look where he is...dead. so just because you believe in freedom of thinking doesn't make you a hippy. thats like sayin "if you drink one beer you're an alcoholic"

You're too funny.

Anyway, what do you guys think the new album's gonna sound like? Do you think it's gonna be more "mature"?

Being old and shit, I saw em a few times way back when, and they were insanely good live, ripped your head off. But the documentary showed why the should have stayed broken up, almost embarrasing, and looking at Frank Black's solo stuff should have been proof enough.
Reforming is usually a mistake, specially for bands that work on demented energy.
As for hippies...I saw them follow donovan on stage at a fest, you never saw so many long hairs run screaming in blind terror.
Debaser can do that to Floyd fan.
what do I know?

No, lah.

The Pixies had their time, and now it's time for someone else to shine.

But the do rock hard!

Seen them in Edinburgh, absolutely astounding.
I heard Tom Waits was producing the new record, maybe a more blues 'Hey' sound me thinks, which is, of course, a ****ing excellent thing.
The obligatory gear list: Gibson SG standard,Maverick F-1,Epiphone Sheraton,'68 reissuse Jap Strat, Orange Rocker 30 and various pedals.

I've always thought Bossanova was their best album; I'm hoping the new record is more like that or Trompe Le Monde than Surfer Rosa.
