What pickups do you think I should use for a epiphone les paul standard.

I'm thinking maybe a Gibson 498T Alnico Humbucker and a Gibson Burstbucker

about $100 a pickup, basically a slash/gibson general sound

I heard the 498T would do the job but i need crunchier lows so a burstbucker may do the trick.

Well id get something other than Gibson pickups then. For a Slash sound you want a Alnico Pro II rom Seymour Duncan, so maybe that and a JB in the bridge?

Id reccomend these:

^ jbjazz?

those are two pickups...

EDIT: i don't think a JB combines well with the al II pro- the jb is too trebly, and the pro too warm. You end up either EQ-ing for the JB (in which case the pro ends up muddy), or eq-ing for the pro (in which case the JB ends up sounding like an ice-pick).

If you decide you want a JB in the bridge, I'd go '59 in the neck, to be honest.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.
