Hey, I got a new PC a few weeks ago and downloaded Firefox 2.

But I can't play any media files in it. I think I already had Quicktime, but either way I re-downloaded it. Quicktime files still won't play.

Nor will WMP files, I have the newest version of WMP, I think. The one that starts with a black, different to normal looking default skin.

Do I have to restart my PC for the Quicktime thing to take affect? Usually you just need to restart Firefox, which I did. And either way, that doesn't help the WMP problem.

Anyone know what's wrong?

get a codec pack
search K-lite Codec Pack in google and downlaod it.. its more than you need to play all types of media

and its free

But how will downloading a codec pack enable the things to play in Firefox?

I thought codecs just allowed for different filetypes to be played...

Balls, I wanted to put good-ear.com to good use.

It worked on the other PC...

I find that Quicktime works in the AOL and Internet Explorer browsers.
