i want to paint the pick up covers on my ibanez s520ex and the volume and tone knobs green,but im not sure of how to go about painting them,the knobs are metal,the covers i dont no if you can paint them,and the rings i could prolly do easily..should i just use car paint and spray a few coats of the knobs and covers..or is there a place i can buy green hardware?

if your to spray your pup covers, don't do it in metallic,
it'll screw it up big style.

i dont plan on it,i wanna do it as a bright green.like on jems and wat not,but im not sure if these kinda of covers should be painted,they're emg like covers,and would car paint stick o the metal knobs?

Yeah, if you spray it with primer it first it will.
Not sure about without primer though.

You can paint the metal knobs with car spraypaint (like Duplicolor) but I'm not sure if it'll look good, specially if you have to prime it to ensure adhesion. I know you can paint plastic pieces with acrylic formulated specifically for plastic, such as those sold by Rust-O-Leum or Krylon or some other less-known brands.

Guitar Fetish sells colored knobs, etc.

If the pickups have plastic bobbins on them, you'd have to scuff them up big time with some sandpaper to get the paint to stick. Also, I wouldn't use spray paint on them- I don't know what it might do to the innards.

ebay maybe, i know for shur you can get green knobs on ebay and dimarzio sells green pickups I think
