Not Really Anything to be discused, jus something i noticed this week, i bin watching a bit of old TV from around the 70s n 80s and it seems that in every theme tune the Bass Guitar is so loud and prodominant and it really punches you in the face its so noticable compared to anything i can think of from todays era. ahh well i suppose thats all i can say about it, if your gunna go research watch mainly the cop shows n u shud see wot im on about.

I have no idea why i hav bin watchin Old Television when we got all this new stuff. anyway yeah cool.

Funk era. That's why.

Bass is actually still very prominent on television; for example, watch any truck commercial and I guarantee you there will be a grinding bass line.

Sounds to me like an excuse.

Seinfeld is a good example too.

^ Yeah, although that was a synth, not an actual bass.

Bass is still around in tons of commercials, you just have to have an ear for it. But this makes me think of the beatles, Paul McCartney= Seriously he had some great basslines, the bassline for taxman was pretty cool. Plus their song come together is completely bass driven. Just one more bassist that you can be extremely good and still use a pick.

Don't Forget Hey Bulldog, not too shabby of a song either. Anyway, so as not to be totally off topic, just listen carefully to the commercials. I"m sure Viagra/Cialis would have some bass in them

Canada, actually. (Location line is your friend )

Another reason the bass is so punchy in old commercials is poor (or good, depending on your opinion) mixing/balancing.
