Hey, I come to you in desperate need of help.

I recently got a new computer, and now the CD drive will not read anything. It is a lighscribe enabled DVD-RAM Drive. The computer is a Compaq Presario w/ AMD Athlon 64 3700+ 2.2ghz processer and 250 MB Hard drive. When I place a CD into the drive and close it, the light will flash like it is loading something, but then it will just stop. It won't flash anymore after that, and if I go to My Computer, the drive is said to have nothing in it. If anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated

250mb hard drive? lol.

Anyway if you know something about computers you could open it up and make sure the cable (IDE I'm guessing) is shoved in properly to the motherboard and disc drive.

EDIT: you tried other discs? It might just be the disc is scratched or dirty.

Well, more problems guys. Sometimes it will read and sometimes it wont. I watched an SRV DVD on here yesterday and it worked, but when I tried to lpay a music CD it didnt. Is it a cable maybe? Thats what I think... thanks for responces guys. And yes, I have tried more than one disk

Also I meant 250 GB hard drive

No, now the SRV wont work either. Nothing works when it quits.

EDIT: How can I find a better driver for it? I go to my computer and everything and it says it has the best possible driver/drive combo

Don't open it yourself as it will probably void your warranty, just bring it back?
