So i wrote a song about a hitchhiker, now heres one about the drive home...

Heading Home

Another day is done, and we are heading home
As the sun plays hide-and-seek beneath the clouds and haze
The moon is making an appearance on this run down set
Cars flare by, creating lines, single file to the cityscape
(While street lamps awake)

There’s shadowed lines in our way touching light to fade
And it’s something gravity can’t help to become straight
Taking orders from a fire below the sky
shaping the silhouette that outlines this drive tonight

Combustion creates its silence, leaving just heartbeats
in time with the bass drum and the tapping of our feet
The song on the FM plays ambience to our dreams
As all of the air is being sucked clean right through the A/C

The moisture’s all gone, but we’ll sing at the top of our lungs
And no one will hear us, (except for the setting sun)

There’s shadowed lines in our way touching light to fade
And it’s something gravity can’t help to become straight
Taking orders from a fire below the sky
shaping the silhouette that outlines this drive tonight

This light is bound to turn green as soon as we believe
That with every ending we are expected to leave
And somewhere in between there’s a life worth living
take your first right, the last left and we’re back where we started

In the sea of break lights; alone. Another night is a glow
and we are heading home
