I'm building a cheap, efficient PA system for home use and small-medium gigs. I'm going to use my Mackie 14 Channel Mixer (unpowered), a Crate PowerBlock, and a pair of unpowered speakers.

So... with the CPB, the outputs can be run in stereo or bridged mode. The bridged mode takes an 8 ohm load and the stereo mode is labeled "4 ohm min." at each of the two inputs. Would I have to buy a pair of 4 OHM speaker enclosures for it to operate at maximum power? Its harder to find pairs of 4 ohm speakers- most are 8 ohm.

I'd like to run it in stereo...

Cheap amps are "that bad". They suck up your tone like cocaine at Kate Moss' party.
