Every few weeks, someone comes up with "pirate metal"

although there are no vocals, pelican is really good.

Running Wild

I find Running Wild to not sound "pirate-y" enough. Sure, their theme is pirate-y, but their sound isn't very pirate-y.

^ yes but what the heck is pirate metal anyway ?? There is no such thing evidently, its just a fiction genre as far as I am concerned.

If they used distortion guitars in the music of star wars would that create the genre of Space metal ?? lol
I put a dollar in a change machine. Nothing changed.

Pelican is a really good band, but I fail to see how this relates to the subject.

I've heard of a couple of bands on here that could be considered space metal.

most likely

and I also fail to see how they relate to this thread?

Pirate metal doesn't exist lol, unless you want to get technical and give every band a genre for the lyrical themes they explore

“Who are you then?.."
"- I am part of that power which eternally wills evil and eternally works good.”

Best of all, rumor has it their new CD comes with a treasure map! I mean, what's cooler than that...Nothing, that's what!

I appreciate the other Pirate-y bands listed, landlubbers.

Swashbuckle are alright.

But still, pirate metal doesn't exist.
