Well im trying to decide on my first guitar and i was wondering if anybody out there had any suggestions. I know how to play a few songs so what would u recommend. By the way anybody from Georgia.
Only I could think of something this stupid to type.

Aha. Well, either a Fender Strat or some sort of Epiphone LP. Those are very good starting guitars, worth their $$. And not that much $$ at that.
#4
um, the right forum would be a good start, im thinking

Wrong forum?

But as a strat man, I must leave you with this: consider a Fender.

well if ur looking to play korn or nu-metal, than get an ibanez, i wish i would have got a 7 string as my first guitar personally and if u want a 7 string than i would suggest this one as a good starter

Go for a Strat kind of guitar. They're usually pretty low priced and can make enough sound.

But DON'T get one of those First Act pieces of shit at Wal-Mart or whatever. You will regret it. Don't just look at brands, either, because you should really pick it depending on how it sounds.

I luckily got some wierd strat knockoff for like $200. The brand name's GK. If you have a lot of money, though, try and splurge. Get an Ibanez, perhaps. A good one.

Since this is the pit, get a wangcaster

In all seriousness though, you might want to get a Fender Standard Strat, or a Epiphone Plain Top Les Paul. If you want to get a nice warm sound, the LP is perfect because it is all mahogany (from what I know), and if you want a more brighter sound, the Strat is perfect. LPs are generally used in heavier rock and metal, while Strats do everything else. This is what you asked for right?

everyone says get strat or a les paul that doesn't like ibanez but you can get a nice ibanez for 250 and i meand pretyy fu ck ing nice for the money where as a les paul or a strat you looking at 400 to 600 easy for one not worth it unless you really like it.if you got an ibanez you could have a half decent second when you feel you want to invest alot of money into the guitar and the amp don't for get a crapy amp means a crappy sound no matter what you play, the i banez down the road could be a guitar that your not worried about scratching and beating it too hard

Get a 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard Flame Top

im tryin to stay in the price range of $200-$400. Wut do yall suggest for that?

A standard Strat is like 350. So thats in your price range. A "highway one" fender is like a strat, except they dont call it that, they call it a "highway one" (dont ask I dont know why). Its made in USA, which is generally suprerior to the "standard strats" made in Mexico. I personally like the Highway one, I think its better than the S. Strat, but its like 100 more expensive. You just gotta go to a store and buy what you want.

ok i have norrowed it down to 3 guitars- Epi LP 100, Epi G-310, or Fender strat? which one shoud i go with? by the way i play classic metal( black sabbath, Led Zepplin etc.) and little alternative

Isn't this in the wrong topic. It should be in guitar and bass basics.
#22
The Epi LP 100 is crap, and the G-310 probably ain't too great either. The Fender Strat is the way to go. If you want versatility, you might want to get a Fat Strat.
#23
Get a freaking ibanez, I bought sg when i didn't know much about guitars. I would kill for an Ibanez now...the Rg1570 will find its way to me soon tho.
Feel free to flame me for my opinion!

If it's your first guitar get an acoustic and spend about $250 on it. That'll help your fingers get strong and if you can play an amazing acoustic you'll be able to play the electric no problem. (concerning bar chords that is)
#25
Although I have already recommended a strat....I agree with the other guys, You must try an Ibanez before you decide. They are all high quality. They dont make Sh*t guitars.

^^ do try an ibanez

but from your choices, epi g-310. humbuckers are good for that style of music. i'm an sg person myself though, so maybe its personal preference
#27
Washburn acoustic. Spend like $200-250 and get a decent acoustic guitar. Good to learn and build strength.

don't let someone say you can't play metal on a strat. buy a fender standard fat strat. the bridge pickup will do metal and the middle and neck will do everything else. if you like metal don't buy an acoustic to start out with, it'd help your fingers but you won't be very motivated to play if you can't sound like you want to.

Get a Fender Stratocaster Deluxe, i will get a little heavier sound than a regular Strat
My all gold grills give her cold chills

my first guitar was an ibanez gio package......came with guitar, amp, cables, picks, and, and a dvd lesson thing. the guitar was pretty good for a starter and the package costed around 200-300 bucks.

but i would suggest not gettin something expensive, get something cheap and figure out if you will stick with it before you go and spend a lot of money.
#31
Get the g400. set neck beats the g310 flat
if you got nothing good to say say nothing at all.
#33
Not one picture of a wangcaster...I'm dissapointed

I'd say a squire I guess. My first was a Peavey but get w/e you want.
What's up?

dude, first acts are underrated. with a proper setup, they really rock. I have one, and use it alongside my Gibson. don't dis it unless you've tried it.
