i ordered my schecter s-1 black widow online and ripped the tag off the 'special' tone knob when it arrived.the tone knob comes up and i'm not sure why.i can tell it changes the sound but can't quite put my finger on what it does.does anyone know wtf i'm talking about and what it does?thanks for any help.
I don't know anything about the Widow, but I can tell you right now, it's a coil tap.
My best guess, owning a Schecter myself would be coil tap, it allows you to split the humbuckers into single coils.
im guessing volume or gain or tone boost. what i would do is go on the schecter website n look at the guitar specs
it has 2 humbuckers right? it most likely splits a humbucker into a single coil.
single coils my friend
thanks a lot
It makes your Humbucker sound like a single coil pick up. Its called a coil tap.
^ true. i guess i blanked.
very subtle tone change especially thru a practice amp.
