On Lick Library for GNR Danny Gill plays an odd looking G chord. It appears that the fingering is 2nd finger on third fret ofthe low E and pinkie on 3rd fret of the High E. He playsall 6 strings

He never explains the fingering so cannot be sure. Is this a way of fingering a G minus the playing 2nd fret A?

Also he may be muting the B string with his third finger????

this chord is used to back the intro.

Bit vague, sorry but any help appreciated.

If he's playing something like...

-3-
-0-
-0-
-0-
-0-
-3-

Then he's playing Gadd9, but if he's playing..

-3-
-0-
-0-
-0-
-x-
-3-

Then he's playing G - the tabs on here show my second example as the one he plays - so try that..

another common fingering that reminds me of is this:

-x-
-3-
-0-
-0-
-x-
-3-

second finger on sixth string (and muting fifth string), ring finger on second string (and muting first string). Basically a G power chord.
