if you run it without a head your max volume will be zero. you literally won't be able to hear it, since the head would contain a power amp that would boost the volume quite a bit.

You would need a type of poweramp, and even still, I dont think your pedal can really run as a preamp.

That is how I record. except instead of a cab it goes into my stereo.

big difference between a cab and a stereo- your stereo has a poweramp, and a cab is just plain old speakers. it really won't work.

Well it probably won't come out at hearable volumes since the signal from the guitar will be extremely weak without being amplified.
