i hear the windsor has good cleans, but enough gain to go metal spasmodic.

Cheap amps are "that bad". They suck up your tone like cocaine at Kate Moss' party.

wrong forum, but i have the valveking 112, and its pretty nice. based on my experiences, the best way to find out which is best for you is to actually go to guitar center or whatever store, and actually play the amps.
This is how you keep a blonde busy for hours!

There seems to be a distinct lack of Marshallity about your choices.
#11
they cost too much... i wish i could afford to get a marshall, i love the sound, but not the price.
#12
not entirely solid state though
anyway, they're still good, and have a pretty good classic rock tone

Hot rod if cleans are more important, Windsor if you want the best overdriven sounds, and the Classic 50 if you wanted a compromise. You said you wanted classic rock, and some metal and cleans so I voted for the classic 50.

Valvetronix??
i think they are

They're about as all tube as the Marshall 'Valvestate' or AVT 'Advanced Valve Technology'

You my friend fell for the hype :P

They're hybrid amps, full of that solid state goodness with a splash of valve.

But Valvetronix are good amps. Still, you should be looking for an all-tube now. Which apparently, you understand. Good man, threadstarter.
