Hey ,

Ive got a Epiphone LP-100. Ive been lookin at gettin a better les paul knock-off cause i love Les Pauls but im to cheap and not good enough to go for the Gibson. So anyways ive been lookin at some LTD's and other epiphones around the 700-1000$ (canadian) price range, does anyone know any other good les paul knock-offs in this price range (preferably in black or ebony style)

like Zuka said, Agile. Go to http://www.rondomusic.net/ and check out anything higher than the AL2800. I think the AL3000 might be what you're looking for. And don't let the prices fool you. They're quality guitars.

Maybe look into the Dean EVO Noir. It's an all glass back Les Paul Clone. I've seen one in person and it is sexy... The body's not exactly Les Paul shaped, but it's close. Link: http://www.deanguitars.com/bnds_v1/evo_noir_cb.htm

Well i have an epi LP custom that cost me about 750 after taxes here in Canada. (damn taxes are a bugger) Beautiful guitar and its a subdivision of gibson so its not even really a knock off, although tis.

justin, that was easily the most inspiring, helpful piece of advice anyone has ever given me in regards to my musical pursuits.

ESP LTD EC400AT (archtop). very close to an LP in terms of playability and sound, what with the JB/59 combo. honestly, EC400AT FTW. comes in black or goldtop, lol, sweet pics here. i played this guitar at GC and i was like....ZOMG! yeah.

edwards or burny off ebay

+1000! I picked up a Burny Les Paul Custom copy last year and like it so much I sold my Gibson LP and one of my Ibanez Jems and got another Burny. Both were under $900 through Ebay. Their bodies are made to the exact same specs as Gibsons but the electronics are better IMO, and they're about 1/4 the price of a comparable Gibson. The build-quality is outstanding, both guitars are absolutely flawless. I've heard similar things about Edwards. The current Burny lineup can be found here:

http://www.fernandes.co.jp/products/guitars_burny_index.html

Also, these guys can get you any of the newer models of Burny's for around $800-$950 including shipping to North America (the prices on their website are in Singapore dollars).

PS, the ESP/LTD Les Paul-style guitars are very nice, good-sounding and good-playing guitars, however they may not appeal to you if you really like the feel of a Gibson. I owned one and liked it, but I missed the weight and solidity of a real LP.
PRS Dave Navarro signature/Burny RLC-70 - Sonuus Wahoo wah/filter - Vox ToneLabLE - Boss DD-5 - Zoom MS-50G - Modded Ampeg VT-22 100-watt tube head or Peavey VK100 100-watt tube head (6L6GC's in both) - Soldano 4X12 cab w/Eminence Legends.

I owned one and liked it, but I missed the weight and solidity of a real LP. They're brutal on your back but after playing one, everything else feels like a toy to me.

Burny
Edwards
Orville
Tokai Love Rock (be sure it's a Japanese model and not Korean)

I've owned an Agile AL-3000 and would trade it on an Edwards LP any day.
It's a fine line between clever and stupid.

This one is $700-even including shipping and it's brand new. I guarantee it'll be as nice or nicer than any Gibson you've ever played. I think these John Sykes models with the chrome pickguards are sexy.
