my current guitar is an Epi Les Paul plain top.

my dad will give me $500 or a $500 guitar if i can learn the intro to Crazy on You, by Heart.

whats a good guitar in that price range? $500-600?

i play Classic rock(Zeppelin, Beatles, etc.) and Metal/80's rock(Metallica, Poison,etc.)

and also, whenever im playing clean, on the rythm pickup, it sounds kinda muddy, is that the guitar, or the amp?(my amp sucks)

First of all, I'd replace the amp before the guitar - amp is hugely responsible for your tone.

As you're more into metal/heavy rock, great amp for that is the Roland Cube 30X - if you're still budget conscientious. For blues/rock Vox AD30VT is a gem (I own this one ).

dude, valvetronix.
you could get the 50 watt and then you could get a pedal or something.
or maybe a blues junior or something?

I came up with this kick ass riff on my ukelele when I was 12. Find out two years later, it was smoke on the water. Got my hopes and dreams killed..
