I was just wondering if UG could share some of their favorite sweeps

I only ask because I just know the basics and they are getting kinda old Its like trying to write a song with just barre chords

The sweeps Yngwie does in "Blitzkrieg" are insane, the part where he plays like 18 nps.

Also the sweeps Paul Gilbert does in Scarified are preety scary.
Frank Zappa's not dead. He just smells funny.

The string skips are in scarified are insanely difficult. There is a lesson done by paul himself somewhere on youtube.

I was going to say that

There's also the weird sweep-esque thing that Satch does during the second solo in the guitar duel in Devil's Slide. And of course, Vai's I Know You're Here.
Someones knowledge of guitar companies spelling determines what amps you can own. Really smart people can own things like Framus because they sound like they might be spelled with a "y" but they aren't.

Jeff Loomis has a lot of interesting sweep piked arpeggios, Like in RiverDragon has come Solo he dose a Chromatic/ Diminished thing in G Diminished

its something like (from a Guitarworld Magazine)
Eb|--18-15----------------------------------------------------------------|
Bb|------------17-------17-16-15-14----14---------------------------|
Gb|---------------18-15------------------17----15-----------------15-|
Db|------------------------------------------------------17--14-17------|
Ab|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Eb|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|

Eb|--------------------15-18/21\18-15---------------------------|
Bb|-14-17-------17---------------------17--------17-16-15---|
Gb|--------15-18----------------------------18-15---------------|
Db|-------------------------------------------------------------------|
Ab|-------------------------------------------------------------------|
Eb|-------------------------------------------------------------------|

Theres also a cool sweep in Final product, theres probably good tabs for it here (I have a guitarworld with that lesson in it too, but im lazy :P)

Keep in mind that you can string together "basic" sweeps; a lot of the sound is defined by the sequence. For example, the sweeps in "Selkies" that everyone likes are all standard major and minor shapes except for the last one.

And to look impressive, look at the left-hand-only sweeps in Satch's "The Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing".

Lately I've been working on sweeping a major or minor arpeggio from top to
bottom of the neck. It just climbs or descends the neck sweeping back and forth
across 5 or 6 strings. It's pretty impressive if you can pull it off. It's got 5 positions
any of which can be repeated between. It's also just great to have the arpeggio
connectivity under your fingers like this.

I'm thinking I'll tab it out pretty soon.

I've also posted a few sweep "lessons" in the past. There's some pretty good info
there about how to construct your own arpeggios and how they're structured in
a scale.

Between the Buried and Me has the godliest sweeps I've ever heard.

That's legato, not sweeping. Just mo tho.

TS, here's some shapes for you.

TS is probably long gone by now but I'll still try to contribute. I saw a really cool Jason Becker sweep based off Lydian in the Shred forum. A bit too lazy to go and find it but I'm sure if you're interested you could get it

heres a pretty cool sweep of an Amin7b5. its based of two three string sweeps and are connected by a slide and it adds a tap on the top C. I really like the sound of sweeping/tapping and hopefully that can give you some ideas for more sweeps like this.

El---------------------------15-17-20-17-15--------------
Bl------------------------16--------------------16-----------
Gl-----------12-14/-17---------------------------17-14---
Dl--------13--------------------------------------------------

I go to college with mattrsg1; for what it's worth he is the best guitarist I have heard in person, and in particular stands out from others in my age group. You will not be disappointed, honestly.

you might be thinking of C#minor, because that would make perfect sense but im struggling to find some sort of Cminor with a E(major third) and G#(augmented fifth but could be b6th though) and a C#.
sorry for going off topic but i just want to clarify how this is Cminor, unless you are using so exotic minor scale like the persian scale?
