Hello all, I just need a few tips in adjusting my truss rod. I'm pretty sure I have to tighten it. Okay, the action up around the 12th fret is ridiculously high, but the action at the 1st and 2nd frets is pretty low. This means there is excessive relief in the neck right? So I should tighten a few times?

Yeah I tightened the truss rod twice and I think that's all I'll do. The saddle probably needs to be shaved down.

The way you check the relief in your neck (to determine whether you need to adjust the truss rod) is to put a capo at the first fret, then hold the low E string down at the last fret. Check the distance between the bottom of the E string and the crown of the 8th fret. There should be a small gap, but no greater than the width of a credit card.
