I was wondering how you're supposed to get cleans on this amp when its cranked, as it distorts pretty heavily when you crank it

will you just have to roll down the volume on your guitar?

I'd maybe consider this amp as a temporary solution to my crappy Marshall MG30DFX, is it always gonna sound better than it?

Well its a definite improvement over your MG30. You can crank the amp pretty high and then roll of your guitars volume and it will clean up quite a bit, but with out some mods you wont get pristine cleans at max volume.

But next time use the search button. Theres literally hundreds of threads about the Valve Juniors.

There'd a mod you can do which i think Kerry may have done in his thread which basically allows you to crank the volume without the amp breaking up at the flick of a switch.

^ Yeah thats the NFB (Negative Feedback) mod. Im not 100% sure how it works, but you keep all the cleans at high volumes.

Check Kerry's Mod thread in the GB&C forum. I think its in there.

(a) yes.

(b) if you like tone, and don't play too much modern stuff, yes.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

Use the inbetween positions on a strat-style guitar, if you've got humbuckers wire the middle position to give you both pickups coil-split for cleans. Either that or simply fit them with individual coil-splits or series/parallel switching.

I do play quite a lot of modern stuff, but I suppose pedals will sort that

Can it handle pedals quite well?
