I'm trying to download a game to my TI-84 and everytime I try to transfer it, a window pops up that says, "The name for this variable is not valid." Anyone know what to do?

I have an 84+ and i just open up the TI connect and drag the game into it.

Try a different game?

I've tried about five different versions of it already.

if your name has numbers or anything in it the calc won't recognize it.

oh yeah. i doubt you did this, but make sure you unzip the files and only import the file that actually goes onto the calc.

Done that, and no numbers in the file name.

What kind of cable are you using?

It's got a USB on one end and the other goes into my calculator. I'm sure I've used it before to put on other apps.

first, if you aren't going to try and solve the problem then kindly stfu and stop acting like n00bs. *points at xXBarak LaelXx, Cynoxx and TOcheesehead*

as for your problem, that error sounds like it could be a problem with the code. I'm not familiar with TI Connect, never used it, but I used to program crap on my calculator so I might can help. Is there any way you can cut and paste the actual code for the game here so I can see it? What is the exact error message it gives and does it specify a variable name that is invalid?

Does anyone know if TI Connect actually parses the code before moving it to the calculator or does it just blindly transfer it?

i save it to the desktop, then right click and click on send to ti device. works for me and i have the ti84

I think it's just a blind transfer. I doubt it splits it up into tokens and builds a parse tree.
