i posted this in the lyrics forum first

i've just made a chord progression that i think sounds really cool (E, C, D, A, G) and i want to add some lyrics. but do you guys have some examples of how the melody of the vocals should be to make the song sound awesome? don't think about the lyrics, just post the notes on how to make the melody of the vocals

cheers

Make sure to end the sentences or phrases on a chord tone, that would give them more stability.
When a new chord comes, think about singing a chord tone of it. You can even end the previous chord on a chord tone and switch to the nearest chord tone of the next chord. For example, from E to C.
E G# B
C E G

E goes to E. G# goes to G. B goes to C. You can even have a background singer sing the G# to G, while you do the B to C. Would be kickass.
