hey guys, I have about improvising. Mostly when I read about improv its all about just soling around in scales with you typical one note after the other solo sound. But today at the store I heard a guy playing sort of little wing stlye improv. It was that kind of combo of half chord, solo type stuff and it was awesome. How would I go about doing this, should i look into chords and the scales behind them and mix them together or what. Any advice or links is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You need to learn all your scales, pentatonics, chords etc. as much as you can.. I know you've heard it but you need to practice, practice, practice!

Cas made a really good post about improv, so I'll try to find it instead going really in depth

EDIT: I can't seem to find the thread that he posted this in, but here is some very helpful stuff. http://www.cyberfret.com/improvisation/index.php
