sample

I won't divulge my equipment just yet, I need pointers on improving my tone for rhythm guitar. I will give the eq of my distortion effect though. Gain 12 o clock, highs at 3 o clock, mids at 12 o clock, and lows at 4 o clock. Tone at 12 o clock.

I'm really seeing if I can get it more pleasing to the ear, if it sucks, don't just say so, I would like some pointers, IE, more mids, drop highs or lows, etc. It sounds muddy coming in through the built in microphone on my laptop, so it does sound clearer in real life.

Thank you in advance.

he probably has an mg and is trying to avoid the stigma of it.

i like high mids, theyre almost always high. good for body and roar
middle of the road gain, that leaves room for dynamics but allows for some good Balls
bass to taste, just below the point where it gets too muddy
raise the high till it is clear but not piercing, or slightly higher with mid prescence

I kinda wanted it to be a surprise, but sure, ok, I guess. It's a homemade amplifier I got after getting a few parts I scrounged together, plus new ones.homemade distortion plus 5 12ax7 tubes and 2 6l6s, 50-60 watts all tube

nah, Tried an mg, but just wasn't for me. The microphone I'm using right now isn't really cutting it for sound samples, I'm planing to go to the studio at the nearby college on monday an test it out.

It's not really homemade, I kinda stole off three busted 5150s I found at a few garage sales and flea markets.

sample 2

Tried placing the mic farther away so it wouldn't clip, cranked a bit more, this time for solo

sample 3

This is the cranked rhythm section
