I just wrote this song. Musically, it'll be blues/folky acoustic with some harmonica and maybe piano or fiddle. First stanza is harmonized voices without instruments.

Fifteen Miles to Sharpsburg
1/12/07

The rain is fallin’ on my window
The rain is fallin’ on the ground
The rain is fallin’ and I’m sure you know
That it’s been rainin’ all around

I’ve been walking fifteen miles
On cracked and broken streets
With nothing but a crooked smile
And blisters on my feet

It’s fifteen mile to Sharpsburg
Where twenty-three thousand men died
And the green hills all swore
To never let us say good-bye

Good-bye to painful memories
That the rain won’t wash away
More then McClellan and General. Lee
Deeper then just blue and grey

Tell mama not to worry ‘bout me
‘Cause the rain only lasts a while
Then in Sharpsburg I'll finally see
There’s more to life then fifteen miles
