Sweep picking is really a lot easier than most think it is. Get that sweep picking 'swept away' video from UG by Marc Seal, it's a very good introduction and it's really all you need. After that, just practice the shapes all the way to glory.

Theres this dvd by guitar world that teaches you all of this crap from beginner, intermediate, and expert, and they have sweep picking in one of em.
