So recently I've been thinking of soundscaping, although I'm not sure what I really need to do it.

I've been doing some research, and so far I know I need a looping station, a MIDI pickup and something that goes along with the pickup that converts it or something, along with a delay pedal (or two). Other than that, I'm lost. I'm sure exactly what equipment I need.

So I'm hoping you guys could help me out here, as it will be much appreciated.

I don't have a price range yet, because I'm planning on producing one when I know the basic components required.

Also, I realize this is a fairly broad genre of music, so to get an idea of what I'm going for, think of Robert Fripp's soundscapes. I'm trying to get a footing in soundscaping by mimicking his style, so that I can do my own things later on. This is a pretty good video of a soundscape by Fripp:

There are also a couple more in YouTube done by non-professionals and the like.

And asides from soundscaping, I'd like to know what I need with the MIDI pickup so that I can create a sort of 'synth' with my guitar.

Thanks!
