So there must be a few other UG'ers who love snooker? For anyone who doesn't know what snooker is - Snooker

Who do you think will win this weeks masters, favorite players etc?

Come on Ronnie!

EDIT: Ding just made a 147.

Marco Fu ftw! I know he won't win although he's my favourite player - only because he's from my hometown, Hong Kong. But in all honestly, this year, it's either going to be Ronnie or Dott. If Ronnie is confident he will win it. Do you remember what happened last time - he admitted he wan't confident at all and without trying he was in the top 4.

I like playing, but I can't stand watching it on TV.

Does Mark Williams still play? If so, I want him to win.

It's okay to watch - but when you have someone like Stephen Hendry playing, he stands there for about 15 minutes inbetween shots thinking and eyeing up the balls, or if no-one can pot anything, they trade safety shots for about half an hour, and I just get bored. I prefer watching someone like Ronnie, who's fast and goes for the long pots more often.

He doesn't play anymore? I used to watch it 4 or 5 years ago, and he was one of the best.

Does anyone remember that guy from Malta? Don't remember his name, but he was hilarious - he used to get so pissed off everytime he missed a red or didn't get positioning right, so he'd throw his cue on the floor and start having a tantrum

I really like snooker.

Plus i like it when the players get locked into an intence safety battle, i could watch that for days.

Shame about Paul Hunter RIP he was my fav, but anyway John Higgins FTW!

I love to watch Ronnie play...otherwise, any other player puts me to sleep.

Ding won 6-3.

I think Hendry's on the way back in to be honest, he put on good show at the grand Prix last month, even if Ronnie did give him an easy match

No, he does still play. It's just that, well, he's crap now. He's definitely not as good as he used to be. He was one of the best. He failed to even get passed the first round the World Championship during the 2005/2006 season.

Table Of Reds...

I've never seen you looking so shiny as you did tonight,
I've never seen your baize so tight.
You were amazing.

I've never seen so many players wonder if the long pot is on,
Looking for a little can-on,
A cut as thin as a thong.

And i have never seen such a clearance,
Such a clearance of all the pots in every way,
No more safety play.

Table of reds -
Is dancing with me,
Cush to cush.

I've never seen you looking so oblong as you did tonight,
I've never seen your angles so right,
You were a table.

I've never seen so many players tremble as they contemplate you,
Chalking 'till their tips turn blue,
Shaping for a screw.

Table of reds...

Someone gave me the (abysmal) Mitchell and Webb Look Live DVD at Christmas.

That Mitchell and Webb Look reference there, good on you sir, but on topic, I usually back Ronnie and Stephen Hendry.

LOL. Jimmy White lives a road away from me. My dad and him are pretty close. He comes down to my parents' Chinese restaurant all the time, he even signed my snooker cue . Me and my dad (and also my uncle) are huge snooker fans.

Ding is better

/bias

But seriously, Ding's always out of position when he plays with the top spin. But he always seems to get himself out of problems nonetheless.

97% pot success yesterday though, pretty impressive, He's playing Peter Ebdon next, both pretty good friends.

Do you play?

LOL. I can't wait to see that look on Ebdon's face. It'll be another Marco Fu Vs. Ebdon like last year. Man, he should have lost that one, if Marco hadn't made that small tiny mistake.

And yes, I do play. My dad and my uncle have been fans since they were 20 (they're 50 and 46 now). We've got a proper snooker table in the back, although it's medium sized. I've been playing since 5 and i'm almost 19 (and I still do often). Jimmy White lives a road from me and he always comes down to my parents' Chinese restaurant to eat, during which he signed my cue . My dad and him are really good friends although i've only met him once. Do you play?

Do you know Ebdon released a single?

They did a little bit on him a few months ago, he was sitting on a stool dressed in a sort of white robe.
