This is from the intro to Metallica's Blackened, I got it from my folio and I have absolutely no idea how to play it.

e------------------------------------
B-----9--9--9----------------------
G-----2--2--2----------------------
D------------------------------------
A------------------------------------
E------------------------------------

Does anyone know how to play this, as there must be some trick to it, given that nobody's fingers can stretch that far?
#3
yeah but if that was the only way to play it, they would have written it like that, so there must be some other way.

What are you going on about? I just listen two different positions that sound exactly the same.
#6
they probably wrote it in a way that you need two guitars.
Just change the fret to what insideac sed...
#7
try it like this then. JUST MUTE THE MIDDLE STRING.

E--------------------------------------------------------------
B-------------------9--9--9----------------------------------
G--------------------------------------------------------------
D-------------------7--7--7----------------------------------
A--------------------------------------------------------------
E--------------------------------------------------------------

It can be changed into:

-4-
-x-
-2-
---
---
---

Or

---
---
-13-
-7-
---
---

These are the same, read it NUB.

EDIT: It's fixed now, 'sideac.

By the way, insideac wrote it out wrong. it shud either be a 2 on the g and a 4 on the e or a 7 on the d and a 13 on the g instead of what he's written

.It's A and G# and you've put down A and F#, which is wrong.

Ah yes, silly me. I had accidentally hit the A and then the F#,I hadnt looked down to make sure it was the 9th fret. Ah well. Ill go fix it then just in case

I did, I was just wondering why they wrote it that complicated if there was an easier way to play it.
