Well when I play my XXX in my small room, the tubes heat up, and its like 5 degrees hotter in my room than anywhere else in the house. Is this normal/safe? Do tubes really give off that much heat?

That's normal, nothing to worry about.

They're very similar to light bulbs actually, and if you put your hand next to 6 or more light bulbs, you'd feel a lot of heat wouldn't you, so it's just the energy from the resistance wire escaping (which it's supposed to do so the amp doesn't overheat and melt the wires).
#5
There's nothing wrong with that, just make sure your amp is at least a foot away from a wall to let it ventilate properly.
#6
At least you are playing it in winter.

Sometimes when you play like in a very large gig, like BDO, with like, 4 XXX behind you (i know you can mike them, but well, you're a retard then, you are just trying to create an impression, empty cabs will do actually), you can actually feel the heat and it can make you sweat more.

I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.
