I just heard Guns n' roses - Estranged. Just before slash's solo (at 7:30) it seems like he makes some kind of dolphin screams(or whatever you'd like to call it:P) I wonder if anyone could tell me how he does that? It sounds quite cool.

The first thing I think you might be talking about is just somone whisltling.

Then, the repeated parts (I always thought it sounded more like seaguls honestly) is done like this:

Have the volume turned down on your guitar (or a volume pedal, easier in my opinion)
Have the string bent to the note it starts on, and hit it.

After you hit the note, slowly unbend it while turning to volume back up.


or how I would make that kind of sound.
Similar to stuff heard it some Roy Buchanan stuff, and thats how he makes a similar sound at least.

That is how it is done. That and minor delay. Also you pro'ly want to use the neck pickup.
