if i'm recording only one guitar part, should i still use a mixer? or should i just hook up straight into the computer instead? because i need one more cable so i'm thinking that maybe i should just use the cable that hooks up the mixer to the computer.
So you have thousands of dollars invested in atleast one guitar, mixer and computer but you don't want to buy another cable?
Yeah Dimebag is not the "Greatest Guitarist" of all time... Hendrix maybe... I must go get food to eat with my mouth

$250 for an amp? wow. is it worth it to invest that much in the amp?

i have the money, i just don't want to go down to guitar center and buy another one. i can't drive yet. and i will get another one eventually but i'm just asking if its better to use a mixer even if you are recording one guitar part.
i depends on the mixers outputs. ideally it would either be firewire or usb for computer use. if your looking for anythingthat sounds haf decent thats the way to go.

and yes guitar straight to computer input will sound like ass
