on one of the Under The Bridge Guitar Pro Tabs, they're was a symbol on the tab that looked like a slash with a dot on the top left of it. i was wondering how do you play it?

in regular sheet music it means repeat the measure before... but i have never seen it in a tab .. listen to the song and see if john just plays it again.. hope that helped ya
Ignore the above, repeat marks look like ||: and :||. It sounds to me as though you're talking about a rest. I believe the one you're talking about is an 8th rest, which basically means you don't play anything there for 1/2 a beat (or an 8th of the bar).

Why do we feel it's necessary to yak about bullsh*t in order to be comfortable?

That's when you know you found somebody special. When you can just shut the f*ck up for a minute, and comfortably share silence.
