hey guys and gals i rerecorded this song i posted last year. i think it's much better now, it only took me all night, sacrificing many hours of needed study time. oh well. so the song is about seeing hot girls at church while the priest's sermon was about creation (true story). i'm pretty sure me reading the da vince code influenced it a little as well with the whole sacred feminine thing. anyways...http://www.myspace.com/kerwinmendoza it's called genesiscesity. and while you're there why not check out cold hands warm heart, also new

please give it a listen, gimme a crit and i'll crit your stuff as well.

This is really good. I like the guitar part a lot, you are a good writer. Also a good singer. I really like this song, but I don't really like when you double the vocals. Maybe if you harmonized the doubled part rather than singing the same thing? Anyways, good song, I give this a 9/10. Very good.

Hot chicks at church... that takes me back. Trying to feel the love and purity of God, and then you see that sexy little thang, and you just want to wear her ass like a hat. Good times.

Good song. Energy lags at times, but I think that's understandable with this genre. The "ah-ah-ah... ah" parts get a little irritating and a bit pitchy. Love the idea and lyrics behind this song. I like the screaming part. Being mostly a power chord type guitarist, I'm mad jealous of your guitar technique. Studying is not worth sacrificing a night of self-expression. Good choice and really good overall impression of the song.

Overall: B

Im not very good at this but here we go. I liked the chorus. Did you double track it? anyways i could tell there was more than one voice and i liked that part. The acoustic intro, is nice and easy listening. Your voice is actually pretty decent. I wish i could sing like you. BTW did not like the screaming. Rest of your song was pretty interesting. Just could do without the screaming to me.

I like this song alot. Its a very nice acoustic tune. It sort of reminds me of what I would hear out of Death Cab if they went acoustic. No real complaints, just little things that I noticed. You did a good job with the vocal overdubs in the chorus, although I would suggest doing the second vocal track as a melody rather than the same melody twice. Also, in the second verse, I was not very fond of the background yelling/screaming. Very very nice though, 7/10

Give my song a crit when you get the chance:

^haha ok that's a nice comparison.
i kinda changed that part, to be more of a crescendo feel. but yes it's still there. apparently it'll take 24 hours to update though.

whoops it's actually up now.

Personally this isn't my kind of music. I liked the chorus with double tracked vocals though. The guitar playing is really good! I actually like the chorus a lot. I like the aahh parts too. I'm not to fond of the singing in the verses though. But that's just me. Everyone else seemed to like it. Thanks for critting mine.

^really? it sounds like a phaser-like/tin can effect to me. i haven't really tried messing with the eqs much, it's too confusing, just the amplify and bass features.

This song is sick, the only thing i noticed is that the guitar is abit to intense at some times, like when you strum it hard. It kinda sounds like when the mic is to close to the guitar/amp, the screaming in the background added to the song, it reminded me of Taking Back Sunday or Brand New. Good Job!
