Why do people wet their toothbrush after they have put the toothpaste on it? I really don't see a point to it.

It's like using a soap bar without wetting it first.
It doesn't work as well.

Is there any black people on UG?
I don't think a lot of black people play guitar anymore.

It is like why people put stamps on their envelopes with the picture facing up.

There is no real importance, but people just do it anyway.

Edit: I don't wet the brush when the paste is on, only before.

Well if you don't wet your toothbrush, it's all kinda... hard and abrasive, it feels uncomfortable, even if it DOES get wet inside your mouth.
Believe it or not, saliva is NOT the same as water, so you will NOT get the same effect from your saliva on the brush as tap water.
But normally people put water on their toothbrush BEFORE the toothpaste. At least, that's what I was always taught, what I've always done, and what I've always known others to do.

There's the occasions when I forget to put water on before, 'cause I'm distracted and such. But what's wrong with putting the water on afterwards anyway? Unless you can only get a strong force of water flowing out of the tap, or you have toothpaste that disolves as soon as it touches water... or if you're a complete DINGBAT, there should be no problem with putting water on your toothbrush after the toothpaste.
I didn't have a signature until now.

Well I still use mouthwash and scrape my tongue and floss my teeth.. when I feel like it. My breath is naturally bad, and my teeth are naturally yellow so even if I brush my teeth my breath will still smell like someone did a shit on a pine tree.

I wet my brush once before the toothpaste, and one after the toothpaste is on, I'm not sure why, I used to just do it only on the toothpaste.
