Hi, i've done what many consider an unwise idea, but actually worked out well tone wise for what i'm using it for, and mixed a passive emg (neck) with an active emg (bridge) with seperate volume pots that correspond to their respective outputs. I'm concerned however about grounding.

When you ground passive pickups with active circuitry do you still ground them to the bridge? This would essentially ground the entire circuit, which apparently for active pickups is a no no.

With the passive grounded to the bridge there is no hum, and without you can barely hear the passive through all the hum. Is it unsafe to keep it grounded and if so what solutions are there? I've also contacted EMG support but i doubt they'll get back to me any time soon.

Cheers for the help, post some useful advise thanks!
