I'm building a semi-hollowbody for a Design project at my school, does anyone know if and how the position of cavities would affect the sound of the instrument? Logically it seems that a cavity on the bass side of the bridge would emphasise the lower frequencies but honestly i have no idea. Essentially why i'm asking is that because of the controls being placed below the bridge, and because of the shape of the guitar itself, its much more convenient to hollow just the area above the bridge and then a bit at the front for weight balance.
